How do I get him to pay what he is supposed toWhat is the name of your state? MI It started out as Child Support & Alimony - Child support until our son turned 18. - Alimony for 30 months at a set rate then at a higher rate for another 36 months. Our son turned 18 during November, the ex didn't send any child support for November. He did how ever pay the higher Alimony as was expected. I am unsure if he was supposed to pay Child support for the month of November. Also there is a $6 difference in the amount he was supposed to pay each month and since his payments were combined in one check, I'm not sure whether it would be considered that he was short on Child support or Alimony. Since November I have received no payments and he has moved out of state to NC. I'm pretty sure I need an attorney, funds are limited but I am trying to find a way to be able to hire one. Any advice or information would be helpful. |

| So the only thing he actually isn't paying is Alimony for December, right? If he still hasn't paid anything by about March, file for contempt in the state/county that issued the order. You don't NEED an attorney for that. In the meantime, you're going to have to figure out how to live w/out the alimony just in case he drops dead next week or chooses never to pay you another dime. Both things could definitely happen.
