Maintenance and Child SupportWhat is the name of your state? Wisconsin. I just recently got divorced and in the decree, I was ordered to pay child support and maintenance for a period of five years with a certain amount for each. My question is can I take my ex back to court in a certain time period to reduce my child support since maintenance is income for her. If child support and maintenance is ordered for five years does that mean after five years I am done giving her a free ride? |

| It's unlikely that you'd get anywhere with that argument - the judge would have taken all of that into account when setting the orders. Also, the alimony counting as income depends on whether it is truly spousal support or actually part of the divorce settlement. As for the CS in five years - depends on the age of the children. It is unlikely that you would get out of paying CS if the children are still minors.
