My husband and I are divorced but never had community property settled. There is no physical property involved. He resides in Louisiana, I in Virginia. We were married for 17 years while he was active duty military. I have been trying for 3 year to get the part of his retirement I am entitled to. I have been to 3 different lawyers and none can help except to tell me to go back to Louisiana and File for the community property to be settled. We were divorced in a small town in Louisiana that only has 4 lawyers, all belonging to the law firm that the judge owns. I obtained out of town lawyers (2) which did nothing but charge me 3,000.00 and get my divorce.(He filed for the divorce) I had to obtain a national agency to get the child support that was awarded to me and they kept 37% as their fees. Please help me if you can. Thank YOu
