Modification to alimony & child support

What is the name of your state? CT

My new husband supports an ex-wife and two kids and pays over $60,000 based on a former salary of $125,000. He started his own business this year and has not made money until this month and going forward will be taking a salary of $80,000. His divorce decree states they would go to mediation in order to renegotiate payments. Six weeks ago he submitted documents asking for mediation and after two letters has not gotten any response from her or her attorney. Today he submitted a motion for modification with the court. Since he tried for mediation but couldn't get his ex to respond, will he be able to get her to cover the court fees? What about getting money back for the time wasted in this process? Can he stop paying her the full amount now or does he have to wait until court? We are out of money but he wants to do the right thing. What can we do?

1. I don't think he will be able to get court fees back. He could ask for them.
2. He must continue to pay the amount required.
3.don't think he will get money for time wasted.
4. Lower your standard of living until you can go to court and make a change.

Good luck
