OP,

You had one school aged child and chose to stay home rather than prepare to be self sufficient. Your STB-EX could have died or become disabled at any time, and you and your child would have had to do without his income. You, IMO, have created the situation in which you will soon find yourself. Why should any person believe that they can leech off of a relationship for the rest of their life.
