never divorced

What is the name of your state? CA
We legally separated in 1992 but never divorced. He moved
to Europe and has been there ever since. Child support
was bad in some years, good in others. I have asked for the
divorce to become finalized, but he is hedging on college.
What are my options? Our child turns 18 in May of 2006.

I am entitled to 1/2 of his pension during the 5 years of our
marriage, but if he takes it on a monthly rather than a lump sum,
then I would not receive anything until I am 65. There are no
other assets. He makes considerably more money than I do.
