nj child suport levy on bank acct


What is the name of your state? nj
levy put on my bank account thru NJ child support
i am out of work
need the cash to get a job...no cash coming in
small amount

who initiates the levy? the ex or the state? how do get it removed

thnx
depressed dad in trouble state

The state is the one who initiated the levy. You won't be able to get it removed, but you may be able to forestall further action on their part by going to court and making arrangements to pay your child support and something towards your arrearages.

Levying bank accounts is something that the state does only when someone is very seriously in arrears. Apparently the child support problem has been one that has been going on a long time.

It would be in your best interest to get some sort of work.
