No alimony

What is the name of your state? Missouri
My divorce from my husband of 18 years was final last week. We have two teenagers together. They will reside with me. We have two mortgages totaling $90,000, charge cards totaling $10,000, car loan balance of $3300, plus misc other bills like insurance. All of this has been left to me. He moved out of the house a year and half ago. He spends his money on his hobby. I make $18500.00 a year and he makes $65,000.00 a year. The house we have is on the market for sale. I have done all the work and expenses. The judge awarded me all the bills except $8,000 of charge cards and half of his 401k. I will get $897.00 in child support a month. What we make of the sell of the house after the mortgages are paid will go towards the charge card given him. Which will not cover all of it. I really dont understand

Neither do I.

Wow -- we needed your judge and attorneys in my husband's divorce to his ex-wife. Cause she got everything and is still trying to bleed him dry.

Would you like it broken down to you?

Who is living in the house?

charge cards totaling $10,000,

Whose name is on the charge card and what was purchased on the charge cards? And apparently you didn't get all of them -- you get 2k of them.

car loan balance of $3300,

Who is driving the car? Who has the car in their possession?

plus misc other bills like insurance.

What type of insurance? What miscellaneous bills? What benefit do you get from them?

All of this has been left to me. He moved out of the house a year and half ago.

So you have the house. Hence you get the mortgages. that is equitable.

He spends his money on his hobby.

He is allowed. You got everything. When you get all the property many judges expect you to handle the bills. You are employable. You won't get lifetime alimony or even rehabilitative. Apparently the judge didn't think you were entitled to it.

I make $18500.00 a year and he makes $65,000.00 a year.

And? He is paying you child support of almost $900 a month. That is quite nice. More than a lot of people get.
The house we have is on the market for sale. I have done all the work and expenses. The judge awarded me all the bills except $8,000 of charge cards and half of his 401k.

The property seems to be divided that you got the property so you get to pay for what you got. You also get half of his 401k which may be quite sizeable. How much was in it?

Which will immediately alleviate 90,000 of debt for you as well as less than $8k of credit cards for him. So you get the debt you are responsible for in the house completely paid off. He doesn't. Apparently you and he took out a home equity loan and destroyed whatever the house was worth by doing so.
