Non Payment of Alimony

What is the name of your state?
Florida

I was awarded alimony from my divorce and my husband has never sent it. I used legal aid because I couldn't afford an attorney. I went back to them for this matter and they say they can't help me.
I find this crazy. How can that be,

My x is living in a different state and I have no way of collecting. They told me here that as long as I don't have minor children to forget because Florida won't chase him.
Well I am 51 years old and not in great health. I have never worked outside the home I was always a house wife and am having a real hard time. Can someone tell me what I can do?
