Opening OLD CASE

What is the name of your state? NY

I filed a petition to try and temp. lower child support when my company went bankrupt 3 months ago, then went to court and unfort. I didn't have all my w2's so I withdrew the petition.

Two weeks ago I filed another petition and asked the judge to reopen the last case, she SAID that IT NEEDED TO BE IN WRITING - is there any form of writing that this request must be in?
