ohio; has anyone as a second wife discovered whether their spouse's half of their pension goes to the second wife upon the spouse's death, or whether it all reverts to the first wife who already was awarded half? any other info on marital rights of claim in ohio? thanks!

My husbands QDRO states if his first wife dies, her portion goes to "HER" benificiaries...(Texas) its a seperate account set up for her alone(under his name), that she can not receive it until his death, retirement, or he quits his job... now his half goes to me if something were to happen to him(god forbid) I am "HIS" benificiary... who do's he have down for his benificiary? do you have his papers? if so what does it state? I will search ohio qdro for you...

I am a first ex-wife and just went through this QDRO in Florida. If my ex dies, no one gets anything. But when he retires, from the date of our marriage to the date of our divorce is what part I will receive. If I do in the meantime, my portion goes to my beneficaries. The bad thing is, second wifes usually lose. Just like social security - if my ex marrys and he passes on, his social security is split between myself and the new wife. I don't know if this helps but this is what I just went through
