School visits

What is the name of your state? Michigan

Here may be a better question then the last one.

Divorced, joint legal custody, no supervised visitation order.

Can I take my kid out of school for a half day legally without having the ex have any grounds. Yes I checked with the teachers and the child could miss without it effecting her. Again, the teacher is in the loop.

She is telling the school that I am not allowed to visit or remove the children under any circumstance.

Any ideas.

Depends. My kids' schools told me that if they had a copy of the custody and visitation orders, and I specified (in writing) that a child was not to be removed at a time not specified in those orders, that they would not permit their father to remove the children at any other time. (yes, there was a reason for it.)

Momma,

Sounds like he had supervised visitation for a reason and I totally understand that because my new wife has the same on her ex.

I have no criminal background, no restraining orders of any kind, and no history of violent, criminal, or psychotic behavior.

Since I have none of these factors attached to me, there should be no problem. Please keep me enlightened of what I could encounter.

Hey

I have found that since there is no court order stating that I have supervised visitation or that I am a threat to the safety of my children, the school can not stop me from seeing, taking, or anything else I deem fit to do with my children.

Hope this info helps others out there.

Does this pertain to all types of custody, or just Joint Legal?
