What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri
My son has been denied child support through the courts for his two children ages 6 and 8. He has joint custody and the children live with him. His attorney told him that she dosnt understand why the judge would order no support but that he can try to come up with more money to try and appeal the decision. The problem is this. This single father is trying to raise two children alone with out the support of the other parent. He makes 9.00 per hour recieves state paid health care for his children and food stamps. He also pays before and after school day care for his children so he can work. The mother makes 10.50 an hour and is responsible for no one but herself. There is no money to appeal this bad decision.
His divorce took place in Jackson County in Missouri . Everything we read and hear is that Non custodial parents are required by law to pay child support and we do not understand how this decision could have been reached. is there anything he can do to appeal this decision without having to pay thousands of dollars more in legal fees.
