Spousal supportWhat is the name of your state? Ohio My husband has not been in the household since January of 07. He is filing for a divorce. We have been married since June 2002 . We have no children and I been unable to work since August of 2005. I have not received any financial support from him yet and his lawyer says that we have not been married long enough. Is that so. What is the duration of the marriage in years? please let me know thanks. Thanks Tallie |

| Four and a half years is a very short marriage. SS is very unlikely. What would you have done under these circumstances if you hadn't been married to him? If you are disabled, have you applied for SS disablity?

| A general rule of thumb is that for SS to be awarded, the marriage must have been of 10 years or longer. And... you've been disabled and presumably supporting yourself since January, yes?
