| a friend of mine was told that some states don't recognize orders of spousal support from other states... in other words if he moved to one of these states he could not be put in jail or extradicted back to Illinois if he did not pay all of the alimony. He is disabled & on a small pension... the court awarded her half of his income leaving him at poverty level. She is able to work but won't ... she has a low income apt & food stamps etc... lives quite nice while he is destitute... no children involved both are 59yrs old. which states do not extradite or punish non payment of spousal support from other state orders ? thank you |
