How much did you/will you receive from the property settlement? You have been married 5 years or less, the best you could hope for would be some very short term alimony, and even that is not guaranteed. You have a short term marriage.

Response4500.00 is the net. the gross is over 8000.00, plus overtime and bonus. Yes it is a short term Marriage and the property settlement has yet to be discussed. We have the appraisal done and our house is going to be set for closing in April. I am only asking for support till I graduate school in june 2010. My wife supported me the year and a half I was in school when we were together. How come she can't do it now? After i was unsuccessful finding a job in the very small town we live in, we both decided that I need to attend college so I can get an alternate career. My wife is well aware of what sacrifices I have made so she could be closer to her family and now I am paying for it out of spite. Last edited by ldog72; 03-03-2009 at 10:00 AM. |

Most likely she will pay spousal support for roughly 20 months. Didn't you have another thread that asked this same question? How much depends on debt load and who gets it.
