| Is there a time limit for filing for a QDRO in NJ? New Jersey
As part of our Property Settlement Agreement a dollar amount was placed on the value of my State Pension, 1/2 of which she is entitled to upon my retirement. The agreement simply stated that the disbursement would be arrainged by a QDRO and that each of us would be responsible for 1/2 of the QDRO filing fees.
We have been divorced for 5 1/2 years and I shall be eligible to retire next year. As of this date she has not filed for any QDRO agreement. Is there a statute of limitations for the filing of a QDRO against a pension in New Jersey? If such a statue of limitations does exist, has it 'run' (expired) for the filing a QDRO against my pension?
Any information re this issue would be greatly appreciated.
