which way should I go?

What is the name of your state? Alabama

My husband of 30 yrs. wants a divorce, says he still loves me but he is not IN LOVE with me any more**************....I am older then he is by several yrs and am drawing my ss now, he is still working and has recently changed jobs and will make over 50k past yr. we have a small home which quite a bit is owing on plus other obligations....he informed he has found another "woman friend"

My question is should I file for a divorce first or let him file ? he says if I dont he will. Or should I file for seperate maintenance
support since my ss check would surely not be enough to survive on. or should i file for divorce and ask for alimony? and what is the differance in the two?

Would really appreciate any help on the subject you could give me.
