2 problems for a minor

I live in california, and I have a couple questions.

Can a store representive or store security stop you, search you and question you? Are you authorized to answer, can you not consent of a search or pat down from a sotre staff? What about a regular shopper? Can they stop you and question you? Can a store detain you? Do they have to tell you your right before questioning you? Any information toward that would be helpful.

Second problem, when your detained, you plead guilty of shoplifting, and they store owner decides not to procecute, but an officer comes down for questioning, what kind of a case is that? Was it and arrest? Was I charged? Was anything recorded into my criminal record? What that a misdemeanor or felony? Also, a friend who was with me had something contraband(containing THC marijuna), will that show up on my record? Would I be resbonsible????

A store security person has a lot more flexibility they are Police Officer. Its still a gray area so it all depends on the situation.
If the store owner doesn't press charges its just an incident. Not an arrest.

Due to shoplifting we all give up the right to hide things when we enter someone's store. So, if you wear three socks and one has a sausage in it, you may become embarrassed.
