20 yo criminal warrant?

What is the name of your state? Vermont

In St. Johnsbury VT. 20 years ago my sister filled her car with gas and sped off without paying. She was later arrested and that night I bailed her out. She has not been back to Vermont since.

I assume a warrant was issued at the time but has the statute of limitations now expired? She is disabled and on a fixed income and she worries about this a lot. How can I check into this to give her some peace of mind?

Unfortunately, you can't give her ANY "peace of mind". Warrants NEVER expire.

Peace of mind can be hers. You can assure her that she will be able to afford her new housing and not to worry, handicap bars are already installed everywhere she will be walking.
