Alcohol on Dry Campus

What is the name of your state? PA

I go to a private college in Pennsylvania. It is a dry campus. A security guard saw alcohol in my back seat of my car and I got charged with possesion of alcohol on a dry campus. Since the alcohol was in my car the entire time and never left my vehicle and never entered a dorm isn't this my private property and not part of the college? Can they charge me with possesion if it's in my car? Thanks

If your car was on campus then yes.
