Apartment Management Raided Fridge while I was at workWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OH I received a 24 hour notice of entry from Ridgewood Park Apartments in Parma Heights, OH on Tuesday June 9, 2009, stating that they would be entering my apartment on June 11, 2009 to check the ceiling for leaks. Here is the text of the letter: -------------------------------------------------- Dear Resident: This notice will serve as your twenty-four (24) hour notice that we will be entering your suite on 6/11/2009 to change your furnace filter. All items must be removed from the furnace room door to allow full access. In addition, we will inspect your home for faucet leakage and any ceiling leaks. Should we find anything that needs to be repaired we will schedule a maintenance call. If you would like us to change your smoke detector battery, please leave a 9-volt battery in plain sight. Thank you for your cooperation. -Ridgewood Park ------------------------------------------------ On Thursday, July 11, 2009, I put some water bottles surrounding my fridge, since I would want to know if anyone went into the fridge, and then I left for work. When I came home after work, I found out that they didn't even try to put the water bottles back after they opened the fridge. I checked the contents of the fridge, and it was a complete mess. Hundreds of dollars worth of groceries destroyed. This is after I gave them thirty days notice that I would not renew my lease. Is this legal? If it is, then I need to buy a house quick. I pay $575 a month for rent, and they raid my fridge? This couldn't possibly be legal. Last edited by WhatIsTheAnswer; 06-11-2009 at 08:12 PM. |
