ARREST question

state: NC/uSa

In a shoplifting, store security gave me written notice not to enter in to that store for 1yea.(I signed at the bottom).

It was 10$ item, first time. Cop came in and told me, I am under arrest.(he took my name/address/DOB) after 5minutes he ask me to go with no charges because he is in a good mood. He did not give me any written notice. He warned me not to do such stupid things in future.

My question is: Am I really arrested ?

If cop arrests some one, willl cop give written statement on the paper ? OR simply they will tell verbal.
