What is the name of your state? IL

If one is arrested for a felony but it is down graded to a misdeminor, why does your record show the reason for your arrest?

For example: a man is arrested for armed robbery and aggrevated assault. Then after he is arrested the person who filed the report decides he didn't have a gun and he didn't take any money, but it was just a fight and possible self-defense. The result is a plea of guilty to a misdeaminor battery and probation.

When you apply for employment, why does the back ground show the man what the arrest was for. When a potential employer sees the armed robbery alone they toss your application aside. Can the misdeaminor and the arrest record be expunged.
