Arrest Warrant

What is the name of your state? My husband and I are in Indiana right now. A couple years ago, my husband was working as a general manager for a restaurant in New York. He was fired, and was held accountable for some book-keeping error. They decided to press charges. In the meantime, we moved back to Indiana. When the hearing was set, my husband was undergoing knee reconstruction, and couldn't go. This was explained to the judge. He postponed it, but put a warrant out for my husband to make sure that he would come to the next one. Right before the next one, the judge had a heart attack. We have never heard back from our public defender as to when to hearing date is. In the meantime, my husband's new job sent him to Mexico for a few days. Upon re-entering the state of Indiana, and going through customs, the warrant surfaced, and my husband was arrested and taken downtown Indianapolis. I have no idea if they are going to send him back to New York, or if they are going to let him go. I also have no idea what to do to help him. New York keeps changing the public defender assigned to the case and we have not been able to contact the last one. She doesn't return our calls. What do we do?
