Arrested

What is the name of your state? Mississippi. Me and a few buddies were in my car in a parking lot without the car on. A cop came up to my car with a light shined it in and saw paraphernalia. He then got us all out of the car searched my car and arrested only me cause i claimed all the stuff to be mine. I was then taken to jail and my car was towed. However i never recieved a citation stating my arrest or why i was arrested. I was wonder if i could get the charges, possesion of paraphernalia, dissmesed because of this and if he was unlawful in coming to my car and shining a light in?

Thank You,
Michael

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

You've stated nothing that is illegal on the officer's part, and you've stated no reasons for why anything would be dismissed.

It might say on the booking paperwork you later received. If you made bail, then presumably you will be notified of future court appearances. if you were released on your own recognizance, then you were either given a court date or informed to wait until you are contacted. If you really want to be safe, call the court and see if they can tell you the date and time.

Dismissed on what grounds? Nothing you have written here gives any reason to think that the matter would be dismissed. Oh, and the officer has every right to walk up and shine his flashlight into the car.
