arrested for disorderly conduct

What is the name of your state? Michigan

i was urinating in public, but saw the cop car come around the corner, so i quickly zipped up. they said they saw me and my friend. except i was the one that got arrested, they didnt do anything to my friend. well they said i was under arrest for disorderly conduct. never said my rights, just handcuffed me, placed me in the patrol car took me to the station. fingerprints/mug shot. i blew a .054 and they kepted me in jail for 2hrs. then i was released with a misdemeanor ticket. i didnt have to pay a bond, it was PR. just gotta go back in 10days for arraingment??

now im thinking getting a lawyer, and getting this reduced to a civil infraction, so it can be off my record, i do not just wanna pay the misdemeanor ticket. what steps should i go thru myself to make this happen, so i dont have to pay for a lawyer. im a student a the large university and im sure the city court sees cases like mine quite often. since its the summer, and i dont have any summer class, i cant use the free lawyers that my university provides. thanks in advance.

What evidence do you have that warrants a lesser penalty? And releasing you with just a ticket sound like what you want. Go to court, plead not guilty, the DA and/or judge will make an offer for a guilty plea (small fine and keep your nose clean for 90 days the ticket goes away), you accept and your on your way. Call the DA's office and you might even be able to cut a deal before the arraignment.

And for the 242nd time, when arrested, the officers do not have to read you your rights. You watch too much TV. Your rights only need to be read prior to questioning.
