You won't be working in retail for a while. Plus you will probably be looking for a new job. This should only stay on your record till your 21. Hopefully you will not have forgotten about it and do the same thing again.

I take it from your 'handle' on this forum, that you have hopefully learned from this experience.

Regretfully, since you are 18 or older, you will be treated as an adult and not a juvenile. This means that you could be charged with theft. If so, this would mean that you could be subject to a fine or time in the county jail.

Since you didn't provide your state, we are not able to check for the punishment that could be imposed in this matter.

Regretfully, this will not go away at the age of 21 and this will very probably go on your permanent adult record.

However, I don't mean to weigh too heavily on you with this. In reality, it is a misdemeanor and will very probably not affect you in the future.

Best of luck..

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Just out of curiosity -

They caught you shorting the register, you made restitution and then they arrested you?

This seems a little harsh on the store's part -

What was the charge?
