Arrested for simple assault and battery help please!!!!

I'm in Delaware county, PA and my boyfriend & I were fighting and I was charged with simple assault & battery he wasn't charged! What exactly am I in for and what rights & responsibilities do I have, please help? This is the first time I've ever gotten into trouble how and I'm in custody how do I get charges dropped or found not guilty???

The most obvious and easiest answer is to retain an attorney. It's probably the most correct answer too.
