What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

My dad doesn't understand English and didn't know how to response when the police gave command. So he got arrested and charge with ASSAULT-BOD INJ-PUB SERV/RETAL. What's the possible outcome of this situation and what needs to be done to get help? Please help! Thanks in advance!

HE needs to 1) Learn basic English. And 2) Hire an Attorney to assist his with HIS Criminal issue.

Good luck to him...Hopefully it will work out.

Asking a 51 years old man to learn another language is very hard! Thanks! :)
No. Not hard. Not a bit. If he is living or visiting a country he should know enough of said country language to understand BASIC POLICE COMMANDS.

Make sure HE hires an attorney that is able to understand Dad and the court system. ;)

He's charged with assaulting a public servant. Even if he didn't understand the officer's directions that charge still requires that he use some sort of force against the officer and cause injury (at least pain.) He just needs to get himself a lawyer to review the evidence.

It is a third degree felony punishable between 2 years and 10 years, a fine of up to $10,000 or possible probation up to 10 years if he is eligible.
