assault charges brought by private complaint false

OHIO I moved to Ohio in Feb of this year from North Carolina where my husband was stationed in the Marine Corps that said last week I was told I had 4 criminal charges on me that were filed by my ex hubbys ex girl friend in July. she claims that in Jan of this year I beat her up and damaged her car in some way. Now I have met this woman 1 time last year when I went to pick up my son from his fathers house but I was in NC on the day she alleges I did this she also claims that in June I called her and threated to kill her so I have a aggravated menising charge and telephone harassment as well. I have been in minor trouble before when I was younger and I have always confessed to what I have done but this I Did not do I just did not I have a L/A attorney who has practiced law for 16 years but she just really dont talk to me when she did return my call she acted as if she wanted off the phone, she pled me not guilty and set trial for Oct 13th I have heard I dont have to prove a thing but I feel like I have to I didnt do this I have cc statements where I used the card in NC but they are all in my hubbys name. She also charged my ex for telephone harassment all these charges were brought about only after he denied fathering her child and broke off the relationship with her. She waited 7 months after I was supposed to hit her and one month after I was supposed to call her. I guess Im asking please give me advise what should I have at court with me on my side ? My attorney said she wont let me talk she will just wait and see what the pros has.
Thank You
Mona
