What is the name of your state? Texas
My question is can a person be arrested and charged with a class C misdemeaner with assault by threat charges if they threaten suicide or do they have to threaten someone else inorder for charges to result.

Texas Penal Code 22.01(a)(2) includes the following language to define "Assault":

"intentionally or knowingly threatens another with imminent bodily injury, including the person's spouse"

This would seem to indicate that threatening to fight with someone can be labeled assault. This would be a Class C misdemeanor.

I do not see how an attempt suicide might be an assault, however.

EDIT: Aiding suicide seems to require that it involve aiding another's suicide or attempt and not your own.
