background check? do i have a record?

Washington

I was involved in a domestic violence assault. We went to court and my lawyer plebargined to I believe a "continued order of stipulation" I am on probation for two years and had to do some community service. After the two years it gets dismissed.

I would like to apply for a job but am affraid that is going to come up. I was not convicted of a misdemeanor? Was I?

So do I have a criminal record?

Thank you

i could be wrong about this, but i highly suspect it wasn't dismissed if you don't know about it. have you gone down to the courthouse to check yourself? talk to an attorney. you may have to file to have the incident expunged yourself.

Its not dismissed yet, I have two years of probation which I am 4 months into. If I get any criminal thing like an dwi or assault I get charged with both crimes. I signed something that I wave my right to a jury trial if I break the terms of my agreement.
