I have a bench warrant out (I imagine) for not showing up to court for driving with expired tags. I intent to straighten it out as soon as I can spare the money (for it seems my only crime here is being poor). My question is will the warrant show up on an employer commisioned criminal background check?

It depends on what the background check consists of. Almost any public records check will find the warrant. So, expect that an employer WILL find it.
