What is the name of your state? FLorida

My problem is that I was pulled over illegally and property was taken out of my car without a warrant. The judge decided that because of this the property should be returned. The problem I have is that I never had to go to trial or anything. only a letter written and the lawyer charge me heavily just to write a letter. Is that normal?

Attorney's charge by the hour. So the amount due would depend on the length of the letter and time spend researching. A few hundred dollars would definitely not be unreasonable.
