Bench Warrant Civil In Another State

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC

I recently returned from being in China for 18 months, and found out I have a bench warrant for not appearing in court in a civil case involving funds for an asset I purchased in a multi deal contract in which the other party breached the agreement in the contract. Leaving that for another day..

Now right now is not the best time as my mom is dying from cancer, and I need sometime. I know I need to deal with this right away, but my concern is that I am in another state, can I get arrested for an outstanding civil bench warrant over a civil issue in which I was never even served (though I am not 100% sure if they did publication). It will take time, and if I respond to this I need to prepare myself to go to court to beat this guy but in the meantime, my concern is about being arrested.
