bench warrant recall

What is the name of your state? Washington state

My son has been told to get a bench warrant recall. He found out that they have a bench warrant from a charge 10 years ago.
We have been told that he has to go to the city it happened and go to a certain building to get it done before he can set a court date to take care of the charge. Could anybody tell me about this procedure and might they arrest him when he tries to take care of this until he goes to court?

He needs to see the court clerk and set up a hearing on the warrant. It is possible that it will be taken care of that day, sometimes you have to wait. Once he has a hearing date, the warrant will be held. If he has cleared up the problem that generated the warrant, it will be quashed, if not, he should be prepared to take care of the problem that generated the warrant. He should not be arrested unless the warrant is a no bail warrant.
