can I sue for an illegal search,(legal fees, punitive damages

A police task came in to my house with out a warrent acting on a tip I think. I spent six months in jail.Then the judge ruled it was an illegal seach and there evidance wasn't allowed.My question is can I sue for my costs the trauma they put my kids though everything my kids are afraid to live in there home I hate the way the neighbores look at me.It cost me $30,000 and I'm not sure of every thing that was taken yet. ca.
