Can a Valet Parking Attendant search your vehicle and call the authorities?

What is the name of your state?california
If a valet parking attendant searches your vehicle and finds something that he percieves to be illegal in it does he have the right to call the authorities?? and if said parking attendant does call the authorities do they have the right to search your vehicle without your permission?? What if this all takes place at an indian casino parking lot??

My response:

"parking attendant searches your vehicle"

Be specific.

I guess you refuse to enlighten us any further, so I will just say that in GENERAL, if the valet is NOT working for the cops and is being a good citizen, then yes, the search is valid.

Yes, he has the right to call the authorities. Unless the valet is acting as an agent of the police, his finding of the allegedly illegal item can give rise to it's seizure and even criminal charges.

If the valet were committing a criminal act (and looking around a car he has current dominion and control over is not likely criminal) then that would be a seperate matter and not likely to result in suppression of the evidence.
