My husband recently went to renew his commercial drivers license in LV, NV and was told it was on hold in Massachusetts. When calling the number in plymouth, Ma he was told that he had received a ticket in 1989 (20 years ago) for car abandonment and that it wasn't paid and went to warrant in 1996, then revoked in 2006. He moved to the California in 1989, then on to Las Vegas, NV and has had a drivers license in both states since 1989. He was never notified and it was not in the national DMV database. Now he is being told that he must appear in court in front of the judge in Massachusetts. Does this seem right? Is there anything we can do to avoid this travel, as his job requires a drivers license? And it expires next week. We don't might paying some sort of fine for this ticket. Is there any statue of limitations?
Thank you.
