What is the name of your state?

Indiana

So, my sister-in-law has been using a fake ID to obtain entrance to a casino for the last year or so, and never got caught. She turned 21 a few weeks back and started using her legal ID. One of the front security guards recognized her and the fact that she had been coming in with the fake while she was under 21.

Long story short, they did not arrest her, but the state gaming commission is pressing charges for Identity Theft.

I cant find any clear cut law concerning the nature and punishment of the crime (misdemeanor, felony, etc) or the possible sanctions.

Does anyone have any experience in this type of case? I tried numerous dockett searches and cant seem to find any kind of any information.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

When she is charged she will be told the specific code section she has violated. When that happens she will be able to research the code section for its potential penalties.

She should consult an attorney ASAP.
