Class 3 Felony


What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AL
What exactly does a class 3 felony mean?

In what state? Alabama classes their felonies as A, B, or C.

My friend called the law when her bf tried to break into her car and under the type incident that it was considered it has "Burglary 3rd" and it has the 3 under the "degree" part circled

(a) A person commits the crime of burglary in the third degree if he knowingly enters or remains unlawfully in a building with intent to commit a crime therein.

(b) Burglary in the third degree is a Class C felony.


It's the least severe charge of burglary (but still nothing to be sneezed at). It means she wasn't armed or otherwise threatening to a person in the house she was breaking into.

A class C felony is good for 1 - 10 years in prison.
