What is the name of your state? Virginia

When someone (not me) goes for a competency exam, can members of the immediate family talk to the doctor giving the exam? Are they allowed to tell the doctor what's been going on in their opinion? Or is something like that not allowed? If it is allowed, is any prior permission from anyone needed?

My response:

I think the entire State of Virginia should take a competency examination. After all, it is one of the Dufus State! This question is a prime example of the incompetency of its citizens.
