Disclose of Criminal Conviction during interviewWhat is the name of your state?California I had got arrested/convicted for Public Intoxication 647(f) las month and this month I got approval notice from INS regarding removing conditions on my residency. Now tomorrow I am going to INS office for stamping on my passport so they they let the ball going for my 10 year green card. I have said NO to clause of Arrest/conviction in my petition because everything unfortunate happened afterwards. Please explain me what options do I choose from below 4 1)Go there and tell the officer voluntarily that I have been arrested/convicted for Intoxication. 2)Keep my mouth shut and don't tell them anything unless they ask. 3)Is there any extra form which I need to fill to disclose my conviction and send it to INS separately. 4)Should I make another appointment to meet immigration officer to let him know all the things. Though I know Public Intoxication is not a deportable crime. But what I am scared of is that they don't put a label of fraud on me as I didn't disclose my arrest/conviction. Carl please don't get upset I know this is a kind of immigration question but I have seen hardly any response on the forum so I posted it over there Please advise. Regards |

| I am not a lawyer and not well-versed in immigration law and procedures. You will really need to ask an immigration attorney. - Carl
