Disorderly conduct, need advice

What is the name of your state? Florida

My friend was arrested last week in Orlando FL for disorderly conduct. It is his first criminal arrest. He bonded out for $250 the next day before he saw the judge. His arraignment is set for January 10th.

Here is the question. Should he retain legal counsel? Some of my other friends have told him, it isn't worth the $600.00 - $1000.00. Can he try to get pre-trial diversion?

What should he do? Any advice is helpful!
