do i need a lawyer-furnishing alcohol to minors

What is the name of your state? Maryland

i was written a citation for allowing/furnishing alcohol to a minor at my apt.
i myself am only 18. my 4 friends (all under 21) come over with the alcohol. i don't know if i need a lawyer or just go to court and pay the fine?

The fine could be up to $500 ($1000 if the are priors) plus costs.
Sounds like you are not covered by any of the exemptions.
This is a civil violation and does not lead to a criminal record, nor apparently any DMV impact.

It might behoove you to talk to a lawyer (or if you are in college, a legal advice service of your college) about the full impacts.

You're going to get off pretty lightly. Fortunately the GA didn't pass the stricter rules on this in Maryland.

Except for alcohol issues you are an adult. You will be charged, tried, and sentenced as an adult. Nothing prohibits someone not legally allowed to possess alcohol to be charged with distributing it to others not allowed to possess it. Happens all the time with drugs.

Put an 18 year old in jail because of making too much noise? Don't I wish

Every criminal offense can potentially lead the offender to spend some time in jail. But a first time noise complaint is going to have you seeing fines and/or possibly community service.

But if you don't pay the fines and skip out on doing community service, a slap on the hand can eventually lead to a slap on the butt, if you catch my drift.
