Question

Employment Background Check

What is the name of your state? CA

Hello,

I am currently finishing up my Prop. 36 requirements. I am applying for a job that says it runs background checks on each potential employee. Does anyone know if this will show up? Actually, what kind of info. does show up in a background check

Thanks in advance!!!

There are a lot of variables to your question. If the charges haven't been dismissed or expunged, then they most likely will show up on just about any background check the company runs.

You can search on line for one yourself and pay whatever the fee is for running a check on yourself and see what comes up. This is an easy way to see for yourself what potential employers are going to receive.

How extensive a background search a company does, will usually depend on what type of position you're seeking. If you're trying to go into law enforcement, it will definitely show up. Other professions that would dig a little deeper into your past are teaching positions, as well as medical and/or government jobs, financial institutions and so on.

If you're applying for a position to pick avocados, the farm probably doesn't spend much money doing background searches.

Thanks SO much for your advise about doing a background check on myself on-line...That never came to mind and I'm feeling pretty stupid right now LOL!! No, not applying for a avocado picking job, yet ...just a part-time merchandising position.

Thanks again outonbail !!
