Evading Arrest

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Texas.

I was arrested for evading arrest. My motorcycle was stolen and crashed by a thief in the middle of the night while i was in another town with 2 buddies at the time of the pursuit. I got a call about it at 6:30 am from another friend who is a Police officer in the town i live in. Detectives met me at my house a few hours later. I chose not to fill out a statement over it because i felt the detectives had made up their minds it was me due to a cut on my lip. I let them take full body pictures of me. I guess they we're looking for cut/scrapes. I had none other than my lip. I wanted to talk to a lawyer first but before i could... an warrant was issued and i had to turn myself in. Should i fill out a statement and have my buddies fill one out as well? Or hire a lawyer first?

Thanks
~Matt

Lawyer up, buckaroo.

No comments, no statements until you talk with your lawyer and have him present during questioning.
