Failure to Appear in Neighboring State

What is the name of your state? Wyoming and Colorado

In 2002 I got a ticket in Colorado ( I am a Wyoming resident) for having my highbeams on (I quickly turned them off but not soon enough)! It was a $40 ticket...
My husband and I moved to Virginia shortly after that.,..and because of my own forgetfulness, I failed to pay the ticket on time. I now have a Failure to Appear in Colorado. I called them up and told them what happened, but unfortunately, they are not having any "Amnesty Party" in Colorado this year.
I have to turn myself in, go to court and pay.....Do I have any other options????? My bond is 1000 dollars!~!!! For a $40 fine! Colorado is HARSH...stay away, if you are smart!
