| false arrest I was arrested in Maine for assault on a police officier. The cops felt I was not giving them respect, so they beat me. In order to cover up their misconduct they trumped up the charge. When we went to a probable cause hearing they lied in order to convince the judge of probable cause. The judge found probable cause to proceed. When we finally went to trial they contradicted each other and contradicted what they had said at the probable cause hearing. The judge lectured the officiers on their improper conduct pertaining to the arrest and found me not guilty. My problem is even though they lied at the probable cause hearing,
and have told three different versions of the arrest, whereas the judge found probable cause at the hearing, even through misleading information, I have a hard time pursueing this matter in a civil suit. Is there any way to get a probable cause over turned, even though I have been found innocent at trial. Any suggestions. |
